Level 2 - Students should be aware of and have worked on projects using a sewing machine, iron, and rotary tools and have an understanding of proper thread tension, stitch size, and seam allowance consistency.
The original pattern “Alaska” was designed by Adyta Sitar at Laundry Basket Quilts. I have modified and enlarged her pattern, using the Studio 180 Design – Wedge Star® Ruler. The original pattern is made with 49 blocks. This version consists of 81 blocks.
Each student can choose to make their class project in a multitude of sizes. Fabric Requirements are based on making (81) 10 ½” Blocks, with 3 borders.
Plan accordingly for your preferred block size/#borders.
Required patterns and ruler total $76 and are available from Bolts & Quarters before or at the start of class. See Supply List details for more information.
