Machine : Paper-Piecing
This beautiful quilt is constructed using basic paper-piecing techniques. Once the sections are paper-pieced they are sewn to the center octagon using a partial seam to complete the block. The blocks are set into a diagonal setting with setting triangles along the edges.
Pattern - $15 (pattern will include paper foundations)
Class requires an Add-a-Quarter Ruler - $6-$17 retail
Tresha Cottrill is a lifelong resident of Rosedale, WV. The daughter of a Baptist Preacher and raised on a farm, she is a country girl at heart. Tresha began sewing around the age of ten. The first thing she remembers sewing were nine patch blocks. She sewed mostly clothing and household items until she took her first quilting class in 1992. After learning how to use the rotary cutter, she was immediately hooked.
Tresha enjoys anything creative - she has dabbled in drawing, painting, basket weaving, sculpting, pottery, crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, and ribbon embroidery. But quilting is her passion. She enjoys every aspect of quilting. She loves learning new techniques, and teaching others what she has learned.
Tresha has been teaching quilting in her local communities since 2002. She has taught at the Lewis County Quilt Retreat in Weston, WV every year since 2007. She has been a juried artisan of Tamarack in Beckley, WV since 2003. Tresha is a member of three quilt guilds. She has been a charter member of the Thimbles and Threads Quilt Guild in Glenville, WV since 1997. She founded the Crazy Quilters Guild in Gassaway, WV with the help of a friend in 2004. She has also been a member of the West Virginia Quilters guild for the past few years.
Tresha believes you never stop learning, she continues to take classes whenever the opportunity arises. She has been married to her husband, Stanley, for 34 years. They have 3 grown children and 6 wonderful grandchildren.
