Blue Onion

Mary Ann Webb

This is a Level 2 Class. Students should be aware of and have worked on projects practicing basic use of their sewing machine, iron, and rotary tools, as well as proper thread tension, stitch size, and seam allowance consistency.

This is a challenging, contemporary and beautiful quilt that will allow you to exercise your creative abilities. It will also give you lots and lots of experience with curved piecing. The arcs are long and gentle which makes them easier to sew than in smaller blocks, When I saw this pattern I knew I had to make it, and I hope you will feel the same way!

The "Blue Onion" pattern gives a suggested layout for the blocks, which is amazing, but I fully support doing your own thing. As you will see with one of the pictures of my samples, I went "rogue".
