Machine : Piecing & Applique
Come and have fun learning to build your Seahorse. The techniques used are both fusible and machine top stitching your units. No raw edge appliqué but rather gluing under the ¼" seams and layering the pieces. The Seahorse is about 12"x27" tall. You can use him as a center focal point for a large quilt or wall hanging alone. To add more interest, you might want to include some coral or fish. You will build your piece as a whole, before top-stitching down.
Pattern fee $15, includes full size pattern.
Joyce started quilting at the age of 18. Now with over 40 plus years experience, it’s still her number one passion. Joyce attended a Vocational High School and majored in Clothing Fabrications. After graduation, Joyce worked at a decorator shop for twenty years doing the sewing. She loved every minute of it!
Joyce first experienced quilt competition (PNQE) in 2002, with “Star Bright”; there it was chosen to be in the AQS Art Engagement Calendar for 2003.
Various shows and several ribbons have followed, including an NQA Viewers Choice, PNQE Judges Choice, and a PNQE Third Place Traditional Ribbon and Award in 2017.
Joyce also teaches at local quilt shops and her home studio, offering retreats several times a year.
