108 Machine Quilting Class 1
Monday & Tuesday
Quilting with a Walking Foot & Intro to Free Motion Quilting
This home machine quilting class is an introduction to designs and techniques of the quilting process. In Part I you'll start with a basted quilt sandwich (top, batting, backing) and a walking foot and stitch a series of simple, straight forward quilting patterns. You'll be surprised at all the design options available to stitch with just a walking foot. In Part II you'll switch to your free motion foot. This class will substantially expand your home machine quilting design capabilities. You will have circles, curves, and swirls flowing across the fabric along with a new sense of the free motion experience!
Featherweight Friendly with Requirements (Please see Supply List).
Class Fee $3.
Sue Papouschek has been sewing for 44 years but got the “quilting bug” about 20 years ago when she attended a paper piecing class.
Her “creative outlet” became a full time business about 10 years ago when she started “Willow Creek Quilting” in Smithville, WV. She does free motion custom/heirloom and edge-to-edge quilting. She enjoys creating her own custom quilting designs that enhance the beauty of the pieced tops from her customers.
She has been teaching various classes at Jackson’s Mill Retreat for 8 years, her two quilt guilds “Pins and Needles” and “Thimbles and Threads” and many area shops. Sue is happy to share her excitement for quilting and loves to see quilters grasp concepts and take home beautiful quilts. Sue enjoys teaching and meeting other quilters. She is currently WVQI VP in charge of organizing state guild meetings held three times a year in WV.
Sue and Kent, her husband of 30 years, reside in Smithville, WV and have three grown children and four wonderful grandchildren.
